New Grillo is the ideal contractor’s choice

The range of Grillo ride-on mowers, designed and manufactured in Italy, has won worldwide markets for their advanced mechanics, user friendly operator
features and all round reliability.

New Grillo is the ideal contractor's choice

The Grillo range available in Australia now includes the larger FD450 model with a 113cm three blade cutting deck and a 450 litre capacity mid-mounted hydraulic discharge hopper for the cut material.

Now Grillo has released their FD450 model in Australia — a large capacity and cut width ride-on mower that is designed as an ideal mowing contractor
choice. It is equally at home on estates, parks and any building or public facilities were a large area of grass or lawn needs to be mown and maintained.

The key feature of the Grillo FD450 is it’s floating three blade cutting deck which has a cutting width of 113cm (43 inches). The deck also offers an optional
mulching kit. The raised height of the cutting deck is also adjustable in the range from 2.5 to 9cm (1 inch to 3.5 inches).

The chosen cutting height can be automatically adjusted by the mower electronics using a dashboard switch while the mower is in motion, and the deck can
be lifted hydraulically by a dashboard switch to allow the deck to avoid obstacles or kerbs.

An even more important feature is the 450 litre capacity (100 gallon, 0.6 cubic yard) rear discharge hopper to collect the cut grass or lawn material.
The rear mounted hopper on the FD450 has a hydraulic discharge and when it is filled to capacity the mover will automatically stop, indicating it’s
full and time to empty the contents.

The rear hopper is also lifted by hydraulics up to 1.5 metres to enable the cut grass to be dumped into a truck, ute or bin for disposal. The weight of
the hopper is evenly distributed over the mower geometry so that it is comfortable on sloping ground surfaces.

The Grillo FD450 gains its power from a Briggs & Stratton Intek Professional OHV V-Twin electric start engine rated at 16kW (22hp). The power is transmitted
through a proven K66 hydrostatic transmission complete with a differential lock. This engine and transmission combination provides a maximum travel
speed of 11kph (6.8mph).

The design of the Grillo FD450 has rear wheel pivoting steering so that the compact turning radius is only 30cm (one foot) making it ideal to mow around
obstructions. In Australia, the Grillo range is distributed by Agrigarden who provide full sales and support service for all the manufacturer’s mowing
products.

Agrigarden spokesperson, Mike Candy, said that with an extensive number of machines in the field models like the new Grillo FD450 provide the ideal choice
for mowing contractors, larger property owners or facility managers with extensive lawn or grassed areas to maintain.
